Michelle’s continued openness with her Anxiety disorder has given me greater insight into what my sister must think and feel every day. If I had been told that news as a 20-year-old would I have reacted and processed differently? Without that chapter, I would never have sat down to think about it, and to think about what a privilege it was to get to spend those last months with my Grandma. Even at 8 years old you understand that it is almost always a death sentence. When Zara wrote about her parents' cancer diagnosis, I kept asking myself if I had the knowledge I do now would I have reacted the same way to my Grandma telling my sisters and I that she had cancer. I was nodding along, I cried, and I gained further understanding of how and why I reacted to certain situations. On more than one occasion Zara and Michelle’s writing had me reflecting on events in my past.
